SAMPS Myeloma Challenge 2021

The SAMPS Myeloma Challenge will be virtual again this year, so that we can all stay connected. You will be able to set your own personal challenge again to help raise funds and awareness to beat Myeloma. You choose a challenge meaningful to you – something unique that you can do at your own pace whatever the stage of your personal Myeloma journey.
We can all take inspiration from the late Captain Sir Tom Moore of Britain who, at 100 years of age, successfully raised £32,000,000 (GBP) by walking around his back yard with the aid of a walker. Whether your challenge is to walk, run or cycle a certain distance, walk a target number of steps each day, sew a number of masks, shave your head, create artwork for donation, or help a person in need - the list is endless – we can all make a difference in our own unique way.
The more people who participate, the more money we can raise for Myeloma-specialized research.
Are you up for the challenge?
By participating, we all make Myeloma matter. You will be helping to raise money to bring us all closer to a cure. The money raised in the SAMPS Myeloma Challenge stays in Calgary, facilitates the awareness of Myeloma in Southern Alberta, and supports the University of Calgary Division of Hematology Research and Education Fund, which specializes in Multiple Myeloma research. This allows the development of new clinical trials for Myeloma and Myeloma research in Calgary which many of our SAMPS members rely on.

Do you want to participate individually? To complete your individual registration, select Join as an Individual
Do you want to take the next step and join a team? Search for a team, click the team name, then select Join This Team
Do you want to create a team? Select Create a Team
The registration is $20 per individual. The registration fee is NOT tax deductible, however, a tax receipt will be issued for all DONATIONS over $25.
Win Prizes
By registering for our challenge, you will be eligible to win one of many random draw prizes which include Costco and Visa gift cards. The random draws will take place on July 26, 2021.
Encourage Support
Once registered, you will have your own email link to the CanadaHelps website. Please send your link information on to family and friends so that they can help you raise funds to increase awareness and support Myeloma research here in Calgary. Registration details will be given on the Canada Helps website when you register.
Registration deadline for the Challenge is July 17, 2021. The Myeloma Challenge will run from July 18 to July 24, 2021, however, donations will be accepted until July 24, 2021.

Remember to take pictures of you and/or your loved ones completing your SAMPS Myeloma Challenge and send them along with your story to: communications@samps.ca. Sending the pictures and stories implies your consent for SAMPS to use your pictures or stories in further communications capturing the creativity and resilience of our myeloma community of supporters.
