Team Beer fights MM's 38 km Challenge!

"19 in a special number for me!" says Scott Beer, a Myeloma Challenge 2022 participant and SAMPS Communications Director.

"It is my birthday, and 2019 was the year of my diagnosis with Multiple Myeloma. March 19, 2020 was my re-birthday (his stem cell transplant) that gave me the opportunity to move forward with this disease. Last July, my challenge was to walk 19 km in a week. I am very thankful to have had 2 years post-transplant, so this year is 19 km x 2! Starting with a hike on July 16, then daily walks.”

Scott started the challenge with a 7 km hike in beautiful Kananaskis, Alberta. He might have gone further if there wasn't a bear in the area!

All money raised stays in Calgary to facilitate awareness, advocacy as well as fund critical research at the University of Calgary Hematology department laboratory.
